Luxembourg, April 26, 2023 – Netcompany-Intrasoft, member of Netcompany Group A/S, has been awarded the pioneering ‘EU Mobile App for Cancer Prevention’ contract, an EU flagship initiative focusing on promoting cancer prevention and reducing cancer risks, by improving access to information, tools, and guidelines for 447 million EU citizens.
In 2022, the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), one of the six executive agencies of the European Commission, announced its renewed commitment to cancer prevention and treatment by launching ‘Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan’, key part of which is the EU Mobile App for Cancer Prevention.
The ultimate objective is to help EU citizens manage their own health, reduce cancer risks and prevent cancer, by offering a free, interactive, and user-friendly application. The EU-funded app is based on the 12 pillars of ECAC (European Code Against Cancer) and will be available in all 24 European languages in 27 countries. Netcompany-Intrasoft will be in charge to co-create, develop, systematically pilot, evaluate and deliver the mobile app, which will include some unique technical features such as a customized content management system and multiple language content modalities. In addition, Netcompany-Intrasoft is leading all UI/UX tasks, translations as well as stakeholder group management. The aim is to arrive at a final product which fully reflects citizen needs every step of the way.
The app will be developed in strategic partnership with AUTH (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), and BUMPER, an EU consortium of medical and scientific bodies that will provide expertise and critical information for the development of the app.
Mr. Alexandros Manos, Managing Director of Netcompany-Intrasoft: “The digitization of cancer prevention measures in the EU is a much anticipated and greatly welcomed initiative that hopefully can aid the fight against cancer. For decades, our company has been successfully realizing the digital aspirations of public bodies in Europe by focusing on critical citizen needs, including major undertakings in the health area. It is therefore with great excitement that we launch this new project, aiming to support the lives of Europeans and build a healthier and more sustainable future for all.”
