Luxembourg, July 21, 2020 – INTRASOFT International, the global ICT company, has been awarded a new contract for the delivery, maintenance and operation of a new declaration management platform (including implementation of the import processes) for the Danish Customs Agency under the Danish Ministry of Taxation.
Building upon its global, multi-year experience in the e-customs field and its state of the art e-customs suite of products, under the Intrasoft ERMIS™ brand name, INTRASOFT, alongside its consortium partner NetCompany, has been tasked with using ERMIS’ flexible and open architecture to implement the foundation upon which all declaration management processes will be based in the future, starting with the implementation of import processes. The project forms the cornerstone upon which the modernization of Danish Customs will be implemented in accordance with the EU’s new Union Customs Code.
Mr. Andreas Berggreen, Director of the Danish Agency for Development and Simplification commented: “The development of the new import system is an essential part of the replacement of the current very old customs systems, some of which are up to 25 years old. At the same time, it is a significant contribution to the task of renewing the tax administration's overall aging system landscape. It will be an extremely challenging, but also professionally exciting task, to develop the future system, which will ensure a smooth import for businesses and meet EU requirements. We look forward to doing this in close collaboration with our professional partners INTRASOFT International and NetCompany”.
Mr. Alexandros Manos, Managing Director of INTRASOFT International commented: “INTRASOFT has been implementing customs systems around the world for over 20 years. We are particularly proud to welcome Denmark to the group of public authorities that place their trust in us to lead their digital transformation. As an EU member, Denmark is adhering to EU rules and guidelines, which in practical terms means that its customs systems must follow a pan-EU set of regulations. INTRASOFT has been instrumental in guiding many countries through this process including the UK and the Netherlands, benefiting from its longstanding cooperation with the European Commission’s DG TAXUD for the harmonization of all Member State systems. We look forward to working with the Danish Ministry of Taxation to implement a very modern customs system based on our ERMIS product.”
